For example, Argon Plasma Coagulation has become an established endoscopic method for the hemostasis and devitalization of tissue. Injection-molded parts of technical ceramics are extremely well suited for these types of medical applications due to their material properties.

The material is insulating, thermally stable, biocompatible, functional and can be cleaned or sterilized using conventional methods. The CIM manufacturing process allows fabrication of extremely thin walls and different, intricate geometries at smallest space. Today, ceramic nozzles hardly larger than a match head, with axial or lateral gas outlets, are available for users.

Ceramic screws

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRT) is an imaging method for displaying organs in medical diagnostics. When using strong magnetic fields, metallic foreign bodies in the human body can affect the result of the MRT. Ceramic components eliminate this problem.

Zirconium oxide is biocompatible, non-magnetic, thermally stable and can be stressed mechanically. The CIM manufacturing process allows a host of different geometric designs (i.e. inner or outer hex) and the most intricate, sharp-edged geometries at minimal space. A variety of different ceramic screws of differing lengths, diameters and head shapes are available for users.
